Melinda was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on August 18, 1977. She graduated from Tupelo High School in 1995 and continued her education at Itawamba Community College and the University of Mississippi where she took a number of paralegal courses. Melinda brought seven years legal experience with her when she began her employment with Deaton & Deaton in January, 2001. Melinda has become indispensable to the firm serving as both a bookkeeper and legal assistant. She is responsible for client billing and accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Melinda is also actively involved in all subrogation cases, minor settlements, and wrongful death settlements.

Melinda is married to Scott Conerly. Melinda and Scott have five children - - Brittany, Peyton, Brandon, Parker and Reed - - and attend West Jackson Street Baptist Church.
